Contact Dawn York for more information on packing OCC boxes. We will also be volunteering at the Packing Center in Charlotte on Saturday, December 8th, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

HOW TO PACK A SHOEBOX

1) GET A SHOEBOX

Start with an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately.

2) GIRL OR BOY?

Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.

3) FILL WITH GIFTS

Select a medium to large “wow” item such as a soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. Also include $9 for shipping costs.

4) PRAY

Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.

5) DROP-OFF

Take your shoebox gift to a local drop-off location during National Collection Week, November 12–19, or you can bring it to the church. We will be taking them with us when we go to volunteer at the Packing Center.
